The router is connected to the modem with a cable, and then the modem is connected to the computer.  When I type 192.168.0.1 into my browser I get a "Can't reach this page" message.

The normal connection is ISP modem > router > computer.

You should check with your ISP if you have any other questions concerning your service.

I looked at it again.  The connection goes from the wall into the modem, then there's a connection to the router from the modem, and one to the computer.

From the router to the computer?

The modem has two outgoing cables.  One leads to the router, one leads to the computer.

Can you give me the modem name/model #?

Make is ARRIS.  Model # Touchstone TG2472

Ok, remove the cable to the router and turn it off.

Try to access the modem using 192.168.0.1 from your computer.

If you cannot then contact your ISP for support.

OK, I still can't access the router.  I'll call Cogeco.

HP Recommended

OK, I got that straightened out and I have access to the router now.
