The WAN IP address is 72.39.217.31

The TG862 should be providing the DHCP for 192.168.0.x IP for both WiFi & the ethernet.

Why do you need the D-Link router?

I just got the new modem from Cogeco last week.  I didn't know it provided wifi.  My old modem didn't.  So I can get rid of the router completely and still have wifi throughout my house?

HP Recommended

That depends on how big your house is.

You need to also read the TG862 user's guide.

Can you now access the TG862?

They never left me a user guide, or told me anything about it other than it is higher speed than the modem I had.  I tried disconnecting the D-Link from power and then typing 192.168.0.1 into the address bar and it came up with the "Can't reach this page" message.  I also don't have wifi anymore.

HP Recommended

It is possible the Cogeco has disabled WiFi & ethernet.

You need to find out what features you have available to you on the TG862.

Also what is the TG862 IP, Cogeco manual lists 192.168.0.1
