HP Officejet Pro 6835
Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

My printer will not print anymore. I get the message  "There is a problem with the printhead." I googled the problem, was directed to the HP site, where I learned that I meet all of the requirements for replacement of the printer (model number, living in North America, etc.). I entered the Serial Number and Product Number from the label on the back of my printer, but the HP website claims that the Serial Number is incorrect. However, I typed it in EXACTLY as it appeared on the label ... even varied the "zero" and letter "O" to make sure that was not the problem. But -- it won't accept the serial number, What now?

I did as you suggsted and that didn't resolve the problem. I still get the "There is a problem with the printhead" meassage. Since the warranty has expired, it probably makes more sense to get a new printer, rather than putting money into a repair. Thanks for your help.

If your Officejet 6835 was originally purchased less than two years ago see the document here to have the printer replaced by HP.
