Photosmart 2575
Android 6.0 Marshmallow

I print from my Samsung tablet Android 6.0 to my Photosmart 2575 via the HP Print Service plugin. Documents will print fine. Printing from websites will print but only in black/white, I cannot select the color option in the properties of the printer. If I try to print a photo the preview of the foto is in black/white, and again I cannot select the color option in the properties, by printing the printer produces a blank page. According to the HP website the Photosmart 2575 is supported by the plugin. Any solution?

@Rvz1

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an  HP Photosmart 2575 All-in-One Printer and print using the HP Print Service Plugin on your Samsung tablet Android 6.0.

I read that the documents print fine. However, there is no option to print in color. The photo preview is also in black and white. The option to print in color is absent. Also, the printer prints a blank page.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Is the printer able to make a copy?
  • Did any changes take place on the printer like a cartridge replacement, etc?
  • Have you tried printing from a Windows or a Mac computer (if available)?

Meanwhile, I suggest you to remove and reinstall the HP Print Service plugin and check if that helps to print in color.

If the issue persists then you may use the HP AiO Printer Remote App. This App will work for Android.

I hope this information helps. Keep me posted. Cheers!

I got another try on this problem.
First start with another tablet Andriod 4.4, printing text ok.

Making a copy in color works fine.
By printing a photo the tablet recognise the printer, also  the propeties of printing in color.

After sending the print command, the printer loads the paper, make some noises (initializing?) and then stops and comes with the error message carrier jam.

The same occurred with printing from Andriod 6.

This happens every time I try to print a photo, so not a mecanical problem.

Reset the printer to factory defaults, no change

It seems to me, that the printer receives a command the printer does not support.

Looks like the Photosmart 2575 and the HP print plug in are not compatibil.

I have searched for a firmwareupdate but not found one.

Any ideas (apart from dumping the printer)

Hi @Rvz1

I am the The_Fossette. It looks like you were interacting with @MKazi, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.

You need to install the AiO Remote app to print photos and to print in color on your android device.

Please refer to the below document for more information.

Let me know how it works and you have a good day ahead.

Thanks for the answer.

I have installed the AiO remote app.

No change.

Do I have to uninstall the HP plugin?
I get the same screen printing via AiO as printing via the plugin.

@Rvz1

You're welcome.

I suggest you to reinstall the HP print service plugin because it does not give you an option to print in color. Reinstalling might help. Please click here for more information.

Let me know if the carriage jam error comes up when making copies.

Cheers! 🙂

Hi, The color print issue is solved. The last time I tried the option of printing in color was present.

The carrier jam only comes up with printing photo's.
Color copies works fine.

I understand that the AiO app uses the plugin to drive the printer.

I have tried printing a photo from another tablet (Andriod 4.4), this gives also carrier jam.

Thanks for replying. 🙂

Is it a carriage jam error or a carrier jam?

Do you get this error if your printing from a Windows computer or a Windows tablet?

Let me know.

HP Recommended

All the printing is done from  Adriod tablets 6.0 and 4.4.

The printer gives a carrier jam error and stops.

@Rvz1,

Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you get a carriage jam error on your HP Photosmart printer.

Let me jump in with a solution for this issue in place of my colleague as he is out of the office today.

This issue could occur if there is any obstruction on the carriage path.

Please follow the link: Carriage Jam error

Let me know if this works.

You have a good day ahead.
