Thanks for reaching out to the forums! I am just getting notification of the multiple posters on this thread.
I understand that you are having issues with the printer initializing. I would be happy to help you. 
 
I am not sure what steps everyone has tried so far. I have provided the link for the firmware update, if you haven't updated the firmware already please click on this link to access the firmware, HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw. By doing the firmware update it has resolved this issue for other users.
 
If you still need the reset for the printer, please let me know. Thanks!

I'm also experiencing this issue--stuck on initializing, and the toner carousel won't move (and makes loud noises). Even after successfully updating the firmware, restarting the printer, plugging directly into the wall, etc.. Can I get the additional instructions?

this problem is a common problem on this model

i have another printer and same problem

reset , frimware , change sensor ,... not help

I need the SUPER SECRET reset code, thanks for making me register to a forum I have no interest in and installing software I do not want on my computer just to get a printer working that already belongs to me.

Please send the same message for reseting the printer. I'm fighting with the same problem since 2 months now.

My warranty is finished, then what else should I do?
