I have tried every fix that has been suggested and nothing works for more than 3-4 days.  Am completely fed up.  I will never purchase hp equipment again.

I have been able to set a static ip addy for my wireless printer. I am reading on other forums that i also need a static ip addy for my computer, is this true? And if so, how do i accomplish this?

I set a static printer IP.

My printer continues to go offline.

Printer IP: 192.168.1.252

subnet 255.255.255.0

default gateway 192.168.1.1

Am i missing something? Do i need to power off printer, router, modem, computer after i set a static printer IP?

Do i need to make other changes?

I'm pretty sure i have a static printer IP but i continue to go "offline" ????????????????

Hello Rings,

You just have to have your printers IP address set as a static IP. I would like you to take a look at my Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection. This will walk you through setting a Static IP and resetting your network so the changes can take effect. Please go through the troubleshooting steps listed and let me know if this was successful at maintaining your connection.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks,

Caveat: not a techie

I had the same " printer offline" issues

Set a static printer IP

Tried all the stuff mentioned here

Printer still went offline every 3-4 days....

Got ahold of a HP tech...he changed a setting for my router....more power?....more range?...something

Whatever it was, haven'T gone offline for 2weeks now........for what it's worth

Re: AWeatherill's comment: 'It's odd to think that I get pleasure from staring at a screen for more than 7 hours a day...'

I think the new DSM-V has a diagnosis code for this.

(If not, it probably should. It's a common enough dysfunction, don't you think?)

You are a genius and I can't thank you enough.  You do understand just how many times I have removed then re-installed this wireless printer.  And how many times I wanted to throw it out the window!!!!!  Thanks, thanks, thanks.  I have been retired from IT for 14 years and used to work on internet programm:)
