SuzeC,

What issue are you having? Plenty of others in this thread have been able to perform the reset using the exact same steps that I provided. If you could elaborate on the issue you are having, I will see what I can do to help, but please send me a private message.

The only thing that I can think of is that you are not seeing the navigation keys because they are not lit up. That is normal, they are not supposed to be. You can shine a bright light on the printer control panel to locate them or you can enter a menu that will cause them to light up, so that you can remember their location.

Rustboy & Julshep,

I went ahead and sent the steps.

Best of luck to all,

Kyle

I've managed to reset and got the scan to email reworking....had to re-enter email details and get new password but at least this worked thanks Kyle. Why did this happen in the first place though ....... Shouldn't have to be doing this really should we.....so many people seem to be getting this problem so its a bad fault with this product...... I might be returning it to shop as I've only had it a couple of months.

I'm not sure why it is going on, it might have had something to do with the way the printer was configured from the factory. I honestly couldn't tell you. If that's the case, I see this issue being addressed and resolved on any future models. However, the thing with something like this is, you have no idea how many stores and warehouses already have these units sitting on the shelf before the issue could be addressed. The reset seems to fix the issue for now though 🙂

I agree with you completely, there shouldn't be this kind of issue with the product. Anything you buy new should work perfectly and exactly as advertised .Maybe in a perfect world. From my experience, when ANY product is first released, it is more than likely going to have some issues or bugs. I'm what one would call an "early-adopter", so I see it more often than not. Video game consoles, Windows/OS X operating systems (fixed through updates throughout the entire life of the product), computer hardware(driver updates), cell phones...You name it and it probably had an issue at some point. Even non-tech products such as cars and retail products have recalls. All we can do, as a consumer, is make the issue known to the company and hope that they fix it.

Have a day,

Kyle

Hi Kyle
I'm afraid I am having the same problem; I have an HP 6520 printer and when I try to scan to any email address I get Server connection error 403 coming up. I would be very grateful if you could help me out. Thanks!

I need the instructions you emailed to others about resetting my printer.  I cannot scan to email.

Thanks

I also have the 5520 and getting the Server Connection Error 403, same as everyone else, I reset my email, disconnected and connected, re downloaded the software, it can scan to computer, but not scan to email, I would appreciate the reset instructions also.

Thank you!
