Align the All-in-One from the control panel


- From the control panel home screen, touch the Right Arrow (
), and then touch the Setup icon (
).
- Touch Tools .
- Touch the Down Arrow (
), and then touch Align Printer . The product prints an alignment page.
- Open the lid.Figure 24: Open the lid
- Place the alignment page on the scanner glass with the printed side down, and then position it along the front right corner of the glass.Figure 25: Place the alignment page on the scanner glass
- Close the lid, and then touch OK . The alignment page scans.
- If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
- If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
- Press the Power button (
) to turn on the product, if it is not on already.
- Press the Cancel button (
) on the product control panel to stop the alignment.
- With the product turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
- Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
- Wait at least 15 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
- If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button (
) to turn it on. Wait until the product is idle and silent before proceeding.


- From the control panel home screen, touch the Right Arrow (

- Close the lid, and then touch OK . The alignment page scans.

- If your product is in warranty , contact HP.
- If your product is out of warranty , click here to view additional printer support options starting as low as $20.

I get the same problem as well. Have re-aligned the printer several times, and randomly the message pops up for a random colour. This is a new printer (less than 2 months old).
What gives.
I use MacOS 10.8.2 and have a photosmart 5510d series.
