I am having the same problem with my Hp Photosmart Premium 309a Was gone for 4 wks and will not print. Have tried turning Radio off and on . Restarts and all diagnostic suggestions on HP's Diagonostics to no avail. Still will not connect to my wireless Router. Blue lights are on for wireless.
After each time ran a Wireless Network Test Report
1st test at 3:28 pm said wireless radio turned off and Wireless On but FAIL
2nd test 5:34pm said wireless radio is not functioning, Wireless On PASS
3rd test 6:14pm same as 2nd test
4th test same as previous 2 tests.
Each time would not connect to wireless router. Router still shows it as part of the network but not activating.
Have turn off power to both printer and router numerous times.
Have reinstalled HP Printer to desk top but not able to communicate with desk top pc or Lap top
When I try to set up the wireless network again it searches but never seems to find anything.
After 5 days of working on it I am at my wit's end and still not able to print with either pc.

I used my Linsky wireless blue cables that come with the router to find the device (printer or computer) then re-installed my printer software. At least I can print just not as wireless as before. Since my pc is wired to my router it works. Not sure yet about my wireless lap top but it probably won't be able to connect.
I am done with HP. Loved all my HP products for over 12 yrs. Bought this printer 1 1/2 yrs. ago. Wasted almost $300 down the drain.

I mentioned that the Wireless Network Test Report clearly says "The Wireless Radio Is Not Functioning" and he said that was about as clear as a fault could be. After a short chat with his supervisor, he said HP would replace the printer body--the part with the wireless radio. All in all, a very pleasant conversation and not a long one either. The whole call took 5 mins to determine that HP would replace and maybe another 5-10 mins to work out the shipping details. Kudos (finally) to HP!

Disconnect the power cable from the printer
Connect it back after 5 mins
Switch on the printer
Setup > Tools > Restore Factory Defaults
Setup > wireless > Restore network defaults.
Turn off the printer and turn it on.
This should resolve the issue.

1. Make sure the customer has a wireless network already established.
2. Make sure the blue wireless light is glowing on the printer.
3. From tools, go to Network menu on the printer and run the wireless network test.
4. On the report, under Diagnostics Summary, What does the ‘Wireless On’ indicate:” Pass or Fail? “
5. What does the ‘Wireless Working’ indicate:” Pass or Fail? “.
6. From Report, How many ‘Wireless Networks Detected ‘: “0 – 20”.
7. If # 4 is “PASS” ,# 5 is “ FAIL “ and # 6 is “ 0” ,then the Wireless Radio is most likely NOT functioning.
8. If any of the values are not EXACTLY AS listed in 7, then the Wireless Radio is most likely functioning.
9. Under Tools menu on printer front panel select ‘Restore Factory Defaults’.
10. Run Wireless Network Test again.
11. If any of the three values mentioned in # 7 above have changed, then the Wireless Radio is most likely to function. However other network issues may exist and you should download and run Network Diagnostic Utility (NDU).
12. If the values have not changed, do a semi-full reset. (# and 6)
If the values have not changes after semi-full reset, replace the printer.
1. Under Tools menu on printer front panel select ‘Restore Factory Defaults’.
2. Run Wireless Network Test again.
3. If any of the three values mentioned in # 7 above have changed, then the Wireless Radio is most likely to function. However other network issues may exist and you should download and run Network Diagnostic Utility (NDU).
4. If the values have not changed, do a semi-full reset.
If the values have not changes after semi-full reset, replace the printer.
