Hi

As the printer is 4mths old it's likely still within warranty. I'd suggest contacting HP Phone support as you may require a replacement.

Can you please let us know how you get on?

Thanks

Ciara

OMG.  This is infuriating.  Clearly many get this error yet it's so difficult to find the solution.  I had it once before and was able to trouble shoot with online help.  It was a simple enough fix, unplug things, start up in a particular order and it cleared itself.  Why does it have to be so hard.  We should be able to simply enter the code and the model number and get the fix.  Not waste time registering for help to view results and then still not finding them.

Please tell me how to fix this error code.  I'm getting very frustrated and I am thinking about purchasing a Epson ptinter or something else.  Please help me!

You just have to call the help desk. You can try to
shut everything down, unplug the USB connection, take out the printer heads and then turn everything back on and then reinstall the print heads then connect the USB cable. If that doesn't work they'll send u a new printer. You might as well call them because they make you go through the dog and pony show repeatedly anyhow. It took me 47 min from the time I placed the call. Then several days for the "new" printer to arrive. But at least now it prints. Today any way.

Hello kbigger,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I would agree with fixit4us, the troubleshooting suggested are the ones I would recommend.

I said "print heads". I MEANT print CARTRIDGES. The second time it failed the cartridges would not move at all on their own so it was a device failure and nothing short of replacing it would fix it.

We had this and error. We were on the phone for quite a long time. The printer is just out of warranty - how convenient. They could not help us fix it but did try to sell us a new printer. No more HP's for us. What a joke.

I had this problem after a power outage. The machine did not make any start up noise it continued to flash the error code after several attempts at unpluging and plugging back in. Banging on it also did not work. But I got it fixed.. I unplugged it and held down the power button and plugged it back in. I continued to hold the power button for about 20 seconds and when I released  the button it started back up....................
