Life was fine - could print famously well from any iPad or iPhone in the house...then I saw the firware update that enabled ePrint and I updated so I could print to the home print from my laptop when on the road. Not sure why, never really needed it before - but alas, I digress... The problem is that sinc eth firmware update airprint no longer functiosn correctly as I get continued copies of the same print jobs - over and over - unless, after the first print job, I double click on the home button onf the iPad to bring upi the print queue manager and hit cancel. It appears that the iPad/iPhone is not getting a print job complete message from the printer (??) and it keeps sending the print jobs.

Anyone else having this issue or have ideas on how to fix?

Regards,

J.

Good news for all,

There is a new firmware update released just now for the m1217 series that resolves the airprint issue you are all seeing. It is also available for windows, not just OSX. This is also a NEW version of firmware, not the downgrade workaround that was available on osx only.

Thank you all for your patience on this issue and the help from AlwaysNeon in looking in to this issue.

Attempt a hard reset on the iphone/ipad by holding power and home together until the device shuts off. It may power back up on its own when you let go of the buttons, if not simply turn it back on with the power button.

Let me know if this has any effect on the issue.

I have tried that numerous times. Both of the family's iPads and both our iPhones exhibit the sae problem. As I noted, all was grand until the firmware update. Any other ideas to try?

Sometimes that's not quite enough, and you need to perform a network reset. Power off the iPad as Jon said previously, turn the printer off and unplug your router for about ten seconds. Then plug it back in and when the lights return to normal power on both your other devices.

Let me know how this goes! Happy New Year!

Negative. Still the exact same issue even after restting the entire network (router and all connected devices).

What is annoying is that it all worked just fine prior to the firmware update. Anyone know how to roll back the firmware???

A few things that come to mind, if your iPad is not connected to the same network as you printer this may cause an issue. Open up the Settings in your iPad and check that the SSID your are connected to on the printer is the same as the iPad.

Also, in Settings make sure that Bluetooth is turned off for the iPad as this can sometimes cause interference in wireless communication.

You might also just re-run the wireless setup wizard on the printer too. Sometimes that simple step can fix this kind of issue.

Let me know!

I have the same problem with my m1217nfw, the most recent firmware update broke Airprint and the document now just prints continuously. Double tapping the home button on your iphone/ipad will launch a print manager where you can cancel the print, this is the only work around I have found. HP, please fix this or I will be forced to return printer!!

Same ssid, same subnet, same everything as before the firmware update! No Bluetooth, no witch craft, no voodo, and no joy printing from any of my Apple mobiles since the firmware update.

What I really need is to find a copy of the old firmware load so I can roll back and be happy again.

I'm with cmillar6 on this...HP needs to fix, or at least acknowledge the problem. It worked before the firmware update.
