Hello,

I have done some digging around, and asked some questions for you both. I have found the following steps are recommended to ensure a successful print.

1. - Plugged directly into the wall socket, no power cord or battery back ups straight from printer to wall connection. Please click here for more information.

2. - Firmware must be updated after step 1 please click here for more information

3. - Alan76 the problem is definitely with the new installation of windows 7 please give this  a try to see if it makes any difference for you.

4. - It has also been mentioned that working with different media requires different settings please click here to follow those steps.

5. - Is it possible that the watermark feature has been turned on? Please click here and go to page 31 for more information.

I am plugged directly into the wall socket

I updated the firmware

3 is n/a to me

I didn't change anything when this started to happen. It worked one day and not the next. I didn't change media - printing on the same paper as I've always have.

The watermark feature is not on.

Plugged directly to the wall and using always the same paper. No watermark for me. Regarding the Win7 installatiin.. reinstalled the system 3 times from the original windows 7 dvd on a empty drive. Installed computer drivers and then the printer driver. First page with lines.. second ok. Always like this. The server prints those lines. One computer with win7 64 prints correctly via this server.. but the server itself prints incorrectly.

Well its 1 in the morning here... I'll try the solution tomorrow. Thanx for the help.

Hello samiamabq and Alan76

Did you finally find a solution for the problem? I do have the exact same problem.

Best regards

No, I haven't had time to call...

So frustrating...

I wish a mod would direct a tech person here to read this thread so I don't have to go over it all on the phone. Or email or message us.

I called yesterday and they are trying to figure out the solution.

Hi all,

i've got HP CP1215 on Win 7 Professional 64, and am having the same problem

since installing the optional update (by HP) using Windows Update.

Anyone found a solution yet? I've removed and re-installed the drivers several times

(it's now back to 0.03) but no use. I would like to remove the optional WU update but cannot

find a way how, I cannot find it on the unistall list...

Thanks,

Primoz

Hi!

I havent got any answer from HP. But I found out that with 32 bit drivers it works correctly... with 64 do not.
I tried a 100 different ways of connecting the printer  (directly to pc... through windows server... 32 bit... 64 bit... ) and always when installing the 64 bit driver I get this problem. Right now I connected the printer to a NAS device. I installed the 64 bit driver on Win7 64 Bit and I got this problem. I also installed it on my Win8 32 bit tablet and a problem is not present. There is absolutelly no drivers installed on the NAS... it just acts like a print server. So I came to a conclusion that this is a HP 64 bit drivers problem.

At the beginning i installed it on WinXP 32 and even my 64bit Win7 laptop printed correctly. So this is in conflict with my recent findings. But the only explanation that I can think of, is that the old drivers were OK and printed correctly. The windows update (or HP drivers update) may have created a glitch in the 64 version.

Regards

Alan
