Hello avgallag

Some versions have the L4uninstall.bat file. Do those appear in the CCC folder? If so run that. If not try downloading the Full Feature software and following the 2nd paragraph.

I did the steps you suggested and I still get the Parsing error.

I'm using windows 7 ,64bit  and have a HP C4780

It will print fine but I can't open software to scan pages.

It doesn't work wired or wireless either one.

Hello rlippert

When you stated "wired" did you mean using a USB cable or wired on the network with an ethernet cable?

Does the same problem occur on another computer? Installing the printer on another computer would be the best way to isolate the problem.

I've installed it on a windows XP 32 bit and it worked

Hello rlippert

If the printer was able to be installed on another computer without any problems the problem seems to be isolated to the WIndows 7 computer. Do you have any firewall or antivirus applications? They can sometimes effect other applications.

HI Travis

The scanning program will work on a XP computer via usb but will not work on the windows 7 one.

I tried turning off the windows firewall and it still did not work. I am using AVG antivirus on both computers.

Is there anything else I can try?

Hello rlippert

Try the solution provided by green_apple in the thread Re: Parsing error in file c:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqscloc\1033.xml. Several users indicate that his solution worked. He has an attachment to his post with the hpqscloc folder that you will replace your current folder with.

Thanks for suggestions:  I tried to follow the one for a W7 download, but

a)  there were two 7z folders and

b)  neither folder contained util.

any other suggestion, please?

Incidentally, HP solutions works on one of my laptops, but not on the other:  they are both W7 and on a home network.

Hello Dougchart

Did you try my solution from page one of this thread? Are you receiving the error "parsing error in file c:\program files\hp\digital imaging\bin"? What operating system and what printer are you using?
