Please can someone give me a solution to this issue? Thanks
I also have my HP Envy 5530 listed twice on the main HP page, I read earlier post about fax issues. Would I do the same set up as resolved earlier? Will the changes make changes to the network settings or not?
HP ENVY 5530 SERIES (NETWORK)
HP 225C68 (HP ENVY 5530 SERIES) [WANT TO REMOVE THIS ONE]
this happened after I turned on the printer the next morning and it started to install drivers again without the install CD.
Also do I just keep the printer on all the time?
Thanks for the response.
Can I get a solution please? Would like to resolve this. Thanks.

Hello lindansf,
Thank you for the follow up information about your computer.
There is two ways that duplicate printers can be removed from your Windows 7 computer:
First way:
1. Open the Start Menu and select Control Panel.
2. Open now the Devices and Printers (you may have to switch the view to Icons if it is in Category in the right corner)
3. Right click on the printer you wish to remove HP 225C68 (HP ENVY 5530 SERIES) as you stated in first post and select "Remove device". You may have to make sure all pending print jobs are canceled first by selecting "See what's printing".
4. Go back to the Control Panel and open Device Manager.
5. Select view at the top and check Show Hidden Devices.
6. Under Imaging Devices, Printers and Queues right click and "Uninstall" any of the duplicate printers.
Second way and needed option if the above does not work is to Uninstall and Install the printer software:
1. Open Control Panel and select Programs and Features.
2. Select the printer from the list and click Uninstall.
3. Re start the computer and use the C.D supplied with printer to install again.
Let me know if this resolves the issue.
Thanks,

Hello lindansf,
Welcome to the HP Support Forum.
I understand that you have a HP ENVY 5530 AiO listed twice on your computer and would also like to know if you can leave the printer on all the time. I would not be able to say if the solution you found would work as I can not know for certain if it is referring to the same issue you are having.
If you could let me know what Operating System of Windows you have or the Operating System of Mac you have installed on your PC I can help you remove the double listings of the printer.
Concerning leaving the printer on all the time that is perfectly fine, the printer is ENERGY STAR® qualified and will go to a sleep mode and wake once a Scan or a Print is sent.
Thanks,
I work on behalf of HP

Hello lindansf,
The steps to remove the duplicate Envy 5530 will not change it's network connection on the printer nor will it change any other computers that are set up to print and scan with the Envy 5530.
Thanks

I did all the steps and seemed to be fine last night. tTen this morning the printer added another driver and now it is listed twice again. Also I received a message when trying to print a map on line "print using system dialogue". There was no printer icon on the map page. Should I just leave it as is? Thanks for your help.

Hello lindansf,
Seeing that those steps only resolved the issue for a short time it looks we are going to have to try a method of resolution from Microsoft and possibly contact HP Phone Support.
I would like you to run Mircosoft Fix It on your computer selecting the Envy printers software. This will preform many actions and typically need to install the Envy onto computer once again. If the software does not Uninstall during the Microsoft Fix It steps I want you to Uninstall the Envy via Programs and Features.
Once the software is installed I want you to run the HP print and Scan Dr.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here.
Thanks,

looks like the printer doesn't like printing from Chrome; been testing it all night and I get print results from Firefox. I ran the fix it as you suggested, still have two printers listed but I guess I could live with that. what should I do about the Chrome issue? Sorry to be such a bother, you would think a brand new printer wouldn't cause all these frustrations.
