How do I find my proxy address for my printer

HP Recommended

Hi kimmer66,

Are you trying to setup ePrint?  Are you getting an error message when you try to enable web services?  Most users do not require a proxy address.

Hi Karlien,

Are you having trouble setting up ePrint?

What issue are you having?

What printer do you have?

Can you put a password to lock your printer? From other people trying to print.to many people on the same network can see the printer they all have iPads they print on my AirPrint printer hp office jet 6500plus

Hi Cgarcia27. The Officejet 6500 plus doesn't have a password restrictive printing method for Airprinting. That would have to be controlled by the network. Is this your network? If it is you can use a password on the network, preventing people from seeing the printer. If you have no direct control over the network, another option would be to disable Airprint in the printer, and to use HP Eprint. Eprint allows you to restrict users from printing.

Although the previous fixes for this issue sound great, I am having difficulty still. I tried unplugging and plugging back in. That did not work. When I tried to do the next solution, I am having a problem with entering the IP into the browser address bar. When entered, the browser tries to load forever, and then errors out either because of a certificate issue (which I click the continue to web page (not recommended)) or it does not load at all.

Can you please advise if there is any other option to obtain a manual IP address. It has been approximately 6 months that I have been trying to get this to work and still unable. Extremely frustrated that this is continuing.

Please help as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Hello Irawhite,

I am sorry to hear about your ongoing unstable connection and not being able to connect to the printers webpage (Embedded Web Server). I would like to help you with this. As I understand, you are looking to create a static IP for your printer in hopes to stabilize the connection?

Could you please respond with your Printers Model Number and which OS you are working with (Windows or Mac) and I will do my best to help you out!

Thank you, hope to hear from you shortly!
