I'm reading answers about a lot of questions which are not what I asked.  I am spending hours on this and I'm getting no help. Why does HP not have a technical support site or number to call or instructions that better explain set-up accompanying the printer when purchased?

Hi!

@Champ1

Thank you for becoming a member of the HP Support community. I understand that you are getting a "No AirPrint printers found" message when trying to print from your Apple mobile devices.

To resolve please follow the steps below:

  1. Please turn off the printer
  2. Please turn off your Apple mobile devices
  3. Please turn off your router (if your router doesn't have a on/off button please pull the power cord from the modem)
  4. Please wait at least 60 seconds then plug the router back in
  5. Please wait until all the lights on the router have indicated that it is finished its start up routine
  6. Please turn on the Apple mobile devices
  7. Please turn on the printer

You should now be able to print.

@wilybeast

Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that your printer will not print.

To better assist you would you please provide some further information:

  1. What make/model/product number of HP printer do you have?
  2. How is the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet or wireless)?
  3. Have you installed the full feature software and drivers onto your computer?
  4. What operating system are you using?
  5. Are you getting any error messages? If so what is the error message and where does it display (computer or printer front panel)?

Thank you.

Thank you for joining the HP Support forums.  I'm not sure what assistance you are looking for based on your post.

To better assist you would you please provide the same information I have requested from wilybeast.

Thank you.

Thank you for becoming a member of the HP Support forums. I understand that you are unsure where to find the devices tab mentioned in on the web services information sheet.

I have included a link to another post on the forums with screen shots of how to add your printer to your ePrintCenter or HP Connected account (HP Connected has only been rolled out to the USA and the UK).

@Bellmum

Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that you are getting an error message when trying to enable web services indicating that you don't have an internet connection to your Photosmart 5520 (thank you for the additional posts with the extra information).

The instructions on how to run the wireless setup wizard to connect the printer to your wireless network can be found on page 32 of your user guide in the section titled "To connect the product with the Wireless Setup Wizard".

Now that your printer is on your wireless network you should be able to print from the iPad using Apple's AirPrint. I have included a document for your reference on printing from Apple mobile devices.  Setting up the ePrint feature of your printer is not required if you only want to use AirPrint.

If you would like to set up the ePrint feature of the printer, I have included a document on how to get your claim code and another one on how to customize your printer's ePrint email address.  As you are using an iPad I have also included the FAQ documents for HP's ePrint mobile app and HP's All-in-One Printer Remote app.

Thank you for joining the HP Support community.  I understand that you are unable to find the Devices tab to add your printer to your HP Connected or ePrintCenter account.

Please use the link earlier in this post to leemclaren.  It will show you where to add your printer claim code depending on whether you have an ePrintCenter account or an HP Connected account (HP Connected has only been rolled out to the USA and the UK).
