- B5L47-67906 Kit-ADF Whole Unit Enterprise Might Not Have Th...
I Installed a replacement ADF in a PageWide Enterprise 586F last week and initially thought I might have ordered the wrong part number...
The new ADF had four plug in connectors and one Flat Cable, the old ADF had five wiring harnesses and the Flat Cable was wider than the one on the new assembly.
The instructions included with the ADF were for a few different models of LaserJets with no instructions for the PageWide...
The machine did have an extra Flat Cable connector next to the connector the defective ADF was using, and it looked like it was the right size, but having only four other connectors was concerning. I checked HP internal sites and did not find any documents referencing the issue, but partsurfer listed the ADF as being compatible with the 586.
We decided to go ahead and install the part, and it worked.
I'm posting this hoping that the next person who runs into the same issue will find it and be reassured that the parts are interchangeable.
Here is the list of machines that use this part:

You got the Enterprise edition of the ADF assy. The correct # you needed was B5L47-67907. You are right and it will work on the other models. But not in reverse. The 67907 will have one less cable and will be needed for the other units.

@MPRYAN the part number you listed might work, but not according to PartSurfer:
PartSurfer says that B5L47-67907 works in the following models:

OK, to clarify, I support a fleet of about 100 Pagewide Managed Color Flow E58650Z (L3U43A)printers. The ADF for we use for that unit is the B5L47-67907. I believe their are only 2 ADF's for this series . Hope that helps.

The reason for my article regarding the part number that partsurfer specified for the machine and the difference in connectors was to assist people who did the same thing I did, order the part number HP specified and get something slightly different from what they expected.
It is interesting that the part number I ordered is specified by HP for the E58650dn model, and the part number you have identified is specified for the E58650z.
I only maintain one pagewide Enterprise 586 which is in house, I appreciate your input, but hopefully we won't need another ADF for quite a while.

Thanks for this clarification. I'm going to be replacing one today on an M577f (the one with the keyboard under the control panel). I had a used Assembly that I was going to install and found that it had the narrower flat cable. I wasn't sure if I had part number -67901 or -67906, so I didn't install it and ordered a new -67906. When I checked the new part yesterday, I noticed that it had the narrower cable too. Now that I've read your note, I'm more confident that my part will work. Yeah, HP's instructions that come in the box don't address the issue of the different cables. Thanks again!

Late here but to answer the question: The two ADF units are different in that one features the ultra-sonic sensor that detects multiple feeds and one does not. The parts are interchangeable as machines that use these ADF units use the same scanner and same SCB. The extra connector is for the ultra-sonic sensor and the scanner has connections for both wide and narrow. Since this document was produced the part numbers have changed again.
The standard ADF is still B5L47-67906
The model with the the ultra-sonic sensor is B5L47-67909, any model that has a pull out keyboard assembly will have this ADF installed from the factory and installing the standard ADF will mean you no longer have multi-feed detection.
