- Enabling HP WiFi Direct for HP Single-Function Laserjet / La...
HP Wi-Fi Direct is disabled by default for an HP Laserjet Single-function printer with no screen, not HP-Direct network is shown
HP Laserjet Pro M15w
HP Laserjet Pro M102
Enabling Wi-Fi Direct should be done by connecting the printer to a computer with a USB or by connecting the printer to an existing wireless network using a computer or the HP Smart app.
Once connecting the printer to a wireless network and the blue light solid lit, HP Wi-Fi Direct is enabled in most cases.
Once installing the printer on a computer using USB and Enabling Wi-Fi Direct during the setup it enables immediately unless unplugging the USB, then it returns to Setup mode till the 2 hours setup period completes (Wi-Fi Direct becomes available after 2 hours)
If the printer is connected to the network (with a solid lit blue wireless light) and HP WiFi Direct is yet not enabled, press and hold the Resume/Cancel button till the power light starts blinking. a report is printed.
Browse the IP Address of the printer (as listed on the report) from any other device, select Wireless >> Wi-Fi Direct and make sure the feature is enabled.
If you have no computer or a wireless network available you may follow below steps as a workaround to enable wireless direct:
Power on the printer and ensure the wifi light is blinking, then connect your phone to the wireless network name starts with HP-Setup.
If no such network is shown, press and hold the Wireless button for more than 20 seconds, till the attention light starts blinking. upon the printer restarts, Setup mode is now available.
From your browser browse to http://192.168.223.1
Under Network locate the Wi-Fi Direct option, enable it and take note of its password.
Note: as the printer is in Setup Mode you may see the Setup-SSID network for 2 hours, only once the Setup mode expired (after 2 hours), the Setup SSID should no longer be shown and the Direct SSID should be shown instead.
Note
For the HP Laser 107w printer, Wi-Fi Direct is enabled by default.
To locate the Wi-Fi Direct password, press the (Resume/Cancel) button for about 10 seconds on the control panel and locate the password on the printed network configuration report.

@piero4, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Review these guidelines and tips to resolve setup and printing issues when using Wi-Fi Direct.
-
Confirm Wi-Fi Direct is enabled on the printer: Wi-Fi Direct must be turned on before you can connect the printer to a computer or mobile device.
-
Printers with a control panel display
If your printer has a touchscreen, touch the Wi-Fi Direct icon to view the status screen and printer name. If the status is off, touch the Settings icon to turn it on.
If your control panel has a 2-line LCD display, go to the Network menu, select Wi-Fi Direct, and then select Wi-Fi Direct On/Off. If the status is off, use the arrow buttons to turn it on.
-
Printers with buttons only
If your printer has a Wi-Fi Direct button , confirm the light next to it is on and steady. If your printer does not have a Wi-Fi Direct button and has an Information button , press it to print a report with the Wi-Fi Direct information listed. If there is no Information button, press and hold the Resume/Cancel or Resume button until the report prints.
If the report shows Wi-Fi Direct is off, continue to How do I change the Wi-Fi Direct password, login settings, and printer name?

-
Move closer to the printer during setup: As a wireless connection type, the closer the device is to the printer, the greater the chance of successful setup and printing.
-
Restart the printer and the computer or device: Restarting can help if the printer is not listed during setup or you require a new PIN.
-
Disconnect Ethernet or USB cables: These printer connection types might interfere with basic driver installation.
-
Restore network settings to defaults: Most printers with touchscreen control panels include this feature in Wireless or Network settings menu. For printers without a touchscreen, consult the User Guide for steps.
-
Install the HP print driver or mobile app: If you have not already installed the print driver or app, go to 123.hp.com.
Also, refer to the HP LaserJet Pro M14-M17 - User Guide for more details on the setup.
