How do I get the HP Instant Ink free trial?
When you buy a new printer and set it up either at 123.hp.com or using the HP Smart app and you sign up for a paid plan you are offered a free trial of Instant Ink. However, if you sign up for the 15 page free plan you are not offered the free trial since you are already on a free plan.
The number of free months depends on the offer at the time and the country of enrollment. You must take advantage of this offer within 7 days. There is no special code and the free months are automatically applied to your account. After 7 days, the free trial offer expires.
During the free trial you can print up to 300 pages per month regardless of the plan you pick (50,100,300). If you pick the 500 or 700 page plan your free trial will be for 500 or 700 pages depending on the plan you chose.
To confirm that you received your free months, check the message on the Confirmation page just before you enroll, or sign into your account page at Instantink.com and find the free months under My Account > My Plan. Free trial months are not offered when you sign up at Instantink.com – only at 123.hp.com and the HP Smart app. Remember to take advantage of the free trial offer while you are setting up your printer!

The countdown on the free trial starts as soon as you sign up, in most cases. If you sign into your account at Instantink.com with the email address you used to create account then you can see your free trial timing on the right of your home page.
Hope that helps.

Hi
I just bought a new HP printer (DeskJet 2620). Normally, I would get 6 months of free instant ink. I chose the free option in the beginning, but I didn't knew I wouldn't be able to get the 6 months free. Is there a way for getting the trial?
Kind regards
Jacqueline

If you enrolled in Instant ink with the smartapp or going to 123.hp.com then the free trial will still be available. If you went to Instantink.com then the free trial does not apply.
You can sign into your account at Instantink.com and then upgrade to a paid plan on the Home screen to the right under My Account hit "change plan". Then the free trial months will appear on your home screen or under My Account, My Plan. But this will only happen if you signed up with smartapp or 123.hp.com.

How do I claim the 2-months free trial of Instant Ink? When I set up the printer yesterday, I was never asked if I wanted to sign up for Instant Ink. An earlier message states that I cannot get the free 2-month trial if you go directly to HP through 123.hp.com and that it needs to be done during set-up.

I received my printer yesterday (22.8.2020) and set it up today, using the Smart app. I signed up for the Instantink service during this process.
Following earlier comments, I checked my account but no free months are listed (there should be 5).
Can you help resolve this?

For the free trial period, I know I have 300 free pages. If I print over 300 pages, what exactly is the charge? It only says "a fee will be charged". I expect to have one month of heavy printing (~1000 pages) and then to rarely use the printer after that (<50 pages per month), so the lower plan would work after Month 1. Thanks.

If you have a free trial for 300 pages then anything you print over 300 pages within that billing cycle (which isn't day 1-30 of the month; it's starts the day you enrolled) you will be charged $1 for every 20 pages printed. So you would pay approx. $35 extra dollars if you printed 1000 in the same billing cycle. If you have 2 months free and can spread the printing over 2 billing cycles that would give you 600 pages for free and you would only pay for 400 extra at $1 for sets of 20.
If you go to your account page at Instantink.com you can see the free months you have, the billing cycle dates and if you go to My Account, My Plan you will see the details on the charges for each plan, additional pages and rollovers.
Hope that helps.

Hi
I bought a new printer last week, and it specifically offered 7 months free trial of instant ink. When i registered it online it only shows one month free.
I've been searching for an email to contact customer services and can't find anything. Hoping this gets through to a real person as the virtual assistant had been unhelpful!
Many thanks

It seems there is a problem with HP Instant Ink and signing up to the free trials that are offered on most of their printers. There should be more information on the accompanying leaflets and the app making it clearer on how exactly to sign up for the free trials.
I hope that HP are getting feedback as they really need to sort this, how many customers are they losing because of this lack of clarity?
To those that have arrived to this community forum just post your Instant Ink problem and be patient, there are a number of people on here that can and will help you, which is just as well because trying to get through to HP support is near on impossible! That is what I did and now my instant ink free trial is activated.

I have installed the HP Smart App in my phone and the printer appears to be working. Any advice on how to regisrter for the 6 month trial would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased a HP ENVY printer with the 5 month free trial of Instant Ink. Also as with many others, I did not receive any claim code or promo code in the box - there is a flyer in the box which specifically states a 5 month free trial, but there is no code on it or any other paperwork in the box.. I did register with Instant Ink for Free Plan. But it's just 15 pages and due what I found in internet when I bought printer with 5 months free trial I should be able to use different options for free. Could you help me with it ?

@ACzakis in order to get the 5 month free trial you will need to upgrade to a paid plan 50, 100 or 300 pages. Since the 15 page plan is already free the trial won't be applied when that plan is selected. Please upgrade to a paid plan and give your account 24 hours to show the free months. You can log into your account at Instantink.com. If after you upgrade and wait 24 hours and you don't see anything please reply back.
Hope this helps.

@ACzakis If you choose a paid plan and decide to cancel after the free trial you will not have to pay anything as long as you print 300 pages or less in a billing cycle. However, you must cancel during the 5th month of the trial. If you forget and you go into the 6th month then you will be charged. Hope that helps.

Hello, I am still not clear....I have a just set up an HP Envy Pro 6400 All-in-One Series ...and, I am offered a 6-month free trial with Instant Ink. I have registered both with HP123 and Instant Ink and all the information is there but no mention of the trial. I even followed a process and printed a page off with a Redeem Code which i entered and still no sign of the Free Trial. I signed up for Light Printing - 15 pages/ month. Does this mean I am not eligible? Should I sign up for another amount?
Also, the blue light on the WiFi and under the printer is on all the time. Should this turn off when not in use?
Thanks and Kind Regards,
Barry

I bought myEnvy6010 as a Christmas present for a family member who lives in another town, on 23 November 2020 therefore, I'm in no position to cancel my order as advised by HP, because of the cancellation of the free ink cartridges. I knew nothing of this, neither was I informed when I purchased the printer which is still being sold by Curry's and Argos with free ink cartridges for various months, depending on the price of the printer. The printer I purchased will not be used until Christmas Day as it is a present, so does that mean we have lost at least 1months free ink while it's sat under a 🌲 because it was purchased in November to ensure it arrived at the 🌲 on time?
Thanks and regards

You would need to sign up for Instant Ink within 7 days of setting the printer up versus buying the printer and then you would receive the Instant ink free trial. So you don't need to worry that you purchased it a month before. Just make sure the person you are giving it to knows when they setup the printer they will want to sign up for Instant Ink at the time of setup. They will request credit card or a prepaid card to be applied at the time of setup even though you have some months free for the free trial. This will cover any costs after the free trial is up.
Hope this clarifies.

To better assist -
- May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.
- What is the exact error you are receiving?
- How is the printer connected to your device Wifi or USB?
- What device are you using the printer with, a Windows computer, Mac, Android or an iPhone?
- I would like to know, is your router set to work on 2.4 GHz network or 5 GHz network band?

Hi @ProudDad,
You can change the plans after or before your free trial period ends.
If you are downgrading your plan, your plan automatically changes on the first day of the next billing cycle. When you downgrade your account, your monthly rollover maximum decreases, and any rollover pages in excess of your new maximum are forfeited.

Hello,
I just signed up for the instant ink with my new envy 6022 printer I bought today, the website said sign up now and you will receive 6 months free (I am in Spain). Now i signed up and am awaiting my welcome pack but don't see anywhere about the free trial. I signed up on hpinstantink.com as it says on a sticker on my new printer to sign up on there for 3 months free trial (on the website the offer was 6 months available until 12-31-20)
I signed up to the 50 pages plan.
If you can help me that would be great
Thanks

This is my last resort before I take the lot back to the shop and ask for a refund
