My printer is not allowing us to print. There is an  00 code on it. We have restarted the printer. We have turned the printer all the way off and reconnected the wifi. I even cleaned around the ink cartridges. What do I need to do next?

Hi @Kalb497,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand you have already restarted the printer, reconnected it to Wi-Fi, and checked around the ink cartridges, but the printer is still showing a “00” error and will not print.

The exact meaning of an error code can vary between HP printer models, so I don't want to have you try steps that may not apply to your printer. HP's error-code guidance also requires the complete error format, including any letters, numbers, hyphens, colons, or periods.

Could you please provide:

  • The exact HP printer model (for example, ENVY, DeskJet, OfficeJet, Smart Tank, etc.).
  • A clear photo of the printer's display/control panel showing the “00” error.
  • Whether the printer shows any other lights or messages at the same time.
  • Whether the printer can make a copy directly from its control panel, without using a computer or phone.
  • If applicable, whether you are using standard HP cartridges or Instant Ink cartridges.

Please don't replace the cartridges yet. Once we can see the exact error and identify the printer model, we can check the appropriate HP troubleshooting procedure and determine the next step.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
