2 columns in landscape never equal when printed no matter where I place margins. Always too wide on righthand edge of paper and middle column never centred

There are several things that might cause this.
A more common culprit might be using duplex and having the "bonding" side (gutter) other than zero.
If you are not actually trying to print duplex but your printing preferences when submitting the current job are using a "duplex" enabled shortcut, you might get the same result - printed paper using the rules and settings that might have been used if the document were actually more than one sheet / page.
Booklet and Mirror options should be assessed.
General example - Document Gutters - Word
Note:
- Example does not include the column and margins options that are also controlled in the document software.
- Be aware that setting the margins to less than allowed by the Specifications does not work. There is no software override.
- Printers that do support borderless printing may not do so for all paper types, sizes, or Media (kind of paper). There is no software override to force acceptance of illegal combinations.

In general, if you have not violated the Specifications (printing limitations of what the printer dan do), the place to look for settings that can impact the printed output is within the options used to both set the structure and the options used print the document (duplex, margins, gutter, page size, paper size and type).
If you eventually run out of places to check for the error, consider a printer power Reset and / or removing and reloading the printer software.
