Hi @JPM50,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 2855e is having persistent Wi-Fi connection issues. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength: Ensure that your printer is within a good range of your Wi-Fi router. Walls, metal objects, and electronic devices can weaken the signal. If possible, move the printer closer to the router.

Restart Devices: Power cycle your printer, router, and the device you're using to connect (like your computer or smartphone). This can help clear any temporary issues.

Use the HP Smart App: Download and install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer. This app can help in detecting your printer and guiding you through the connection process. Make sure your Bluetooth is enabled on your device, as the app uses it for setup.

Restore Network Settings on the Printer:

  • If your printer has a touchscreen, navigate to Wireless or Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
  • For printers without a touchscreen, follow the control panel instructions to restore Wi-Fi setup mode.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi: After restoring network settings, use the HP Smart app to search for your printer again. Ensure that you are connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and not a guest or public network.

Check for Network Issues: Make sure your internet connection is stable by checking if other devices can connect to the internet without issues. If your Wi-Fi is unstable, consider restarting your router.

Firmware Updates: Check for any firmware updates for your printer through the HP Smart app, as updates can resolve connectivity issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
