After turning on my printer the touchscreen displays:

  1. The normal HP progress bar (black and white logo)
  2. "Initializing" with the color HP logo
  3. "49 Service Error - Turn off then on"
  4. then the printer restarts itself.

This loop continues until I physically turn off the printer with the power button or by unplugging it.  This started about a week ago after ~1.5 years of flawless behavior.  All of the advice I see for "49 service error" involve changing the configuration on the printer or updating the firmware.  I can't do either of those because the printer doesn't fully start.

The printer is configured to connect via wifi.  From my router's dashboard, I can tell the printer never connects to wifi before it restarts itself.

What should my next steps be?

About the best option might be to do an NVARM reset. Look for a private message
