Hi @49serviceerror ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting  A "49 Service Error" on an HP LaserJet printer, which indicates a firmware error. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, a simple reboot can clear temporary errors.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP support website, locate your printer model, and download the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions provided to install the update. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Disconnect Network Cables: If the printer is connected to a network, disconnect the network cables (Ethernet or Wi-Fi). Then, turn off the printer and turn it back on. If the error disappears, it might be caused by a print job or communication issue via the network.
  • Check Print Queue: On your Windows 11 computer, check the print queue to see if there are any pending print jobs that might be causing the error. Cancel any stuck print jobs.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: Sometimes, corrupted printer drivers can cause firmware errors. Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and reinstall the latest drivers from the HP website. HP LaserJet Pro MFP M521dn Software and Driver
  • Reset Printer: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer to its factory defaults. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
