50.2 Fuser Error msg on HP Laserjet Printer. Tried cleaning function - all sorts of brown dirt, like crumbs, and even what looks like bits of old style ribbon spewed out! Dark almost burnt lines on cleaning page. A "Smudge " line down right had side of page when printing and black ink on corners of page. Even photocopying has line a heavy pressing down right side of page.

Hi @Tyrone13 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A "50.2 Fuser Error" on an HP LaserJet printer usually indicates an issue with the fuser unit. The fuser unit is responsible for heating and bonding the toner to the paper during the printing process. Here are steps you can take to address the problem:
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 30 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check for Obstructions:
- Make sure there are no obstructions in the paper path or around the fuser area.
Inspect the Fuser:
- Open the printer's rear door to access the fuser.
- Check for any visible damage, such as torn paper, debris, or foreign objects inside the fuser unit.
- If you see any visible issues, try to carefully remove them.
Perform a Cleaning Cycle:
- Run a cleaning cycle on the printer to remove any residual toner or debris.
- Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to initiate a cleaning cycle.
Replace the Fuser:
- If the problem persists after performing the above steps, it's possible that the fuser unit is damaged and needs to be replaced.
- Consider contacting HP support or a qualified technician to assess the fuser unit and replace it if necessary.
Check for Toner Cartridge Issues:
- Ensure that the toner cartridge is properly installed.
- Check for any leaks or damage to the toner cartridge.
Inspect the Paper Path:
- Examine the paper path for any obstructions or damaged components.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there is any available firmware update for your printer model and update it if needed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
