HP LaserJet Pro 500 color MFP M570dn
Microsoft Windows 11

An HP LaserJet Pro 500 Color MFP M570dn was sold to me and shipped some 810 miles. It was said to be in excellent condition. The Toner Cartridges were left inside. When I received it, there was Toner soot all over the printer and packaging. It was a real mess. Using my air compressor blow gun and non-aerosol spray cleaner, I went to give it a good cleaning. As I started it up, it went to show 59.C0 Error Code on the Control Panel. I researched 59.C0 error message and found it to be what is called the Developing-disengagement motor, a.k.a. Stepping Motor. I replaced the Developing-disengagement motor. But then at start up a 59.2 Error Code starts to pop up. I researched the 59.2 Error Code and I see it to indicate some motors. Some of the research indicates more specifically be the Drum Motors. I replaced all 3 Drum Motors. The 59.2 Error message continues to persist. I think what if it is either the Fuser Motor or Pickup Motor. I replace both of them making for 6 motors that I have replaced. I still get the 59.2 Error code at start up. When I start it up, I can hear the motors turning. All that I can think of now is the Main Drive Assembly Part No. CD644-67911.  NOTE: The money that I paid for the printer was refunded and I was told to keep the printer. NOTE 2: as I was replacing the Motors, I gave the insides a good clean out (with the blow gun) as well as the outside.

I would like to add that in doing some further research on the 59.2 Error Code, I saw that the DC Controller might also need to be replaced.

Hi @GoGetterMan,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code "59.2" on an HP LaserJet Pro 500 Color MFP M570dn typically indicates a problem with the printer's main motor. This error is often accompanied by a message on the printer's display screen, such as "Main Motor Error" or "59.2 Turn Off, Then On."

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the error.

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Power cycling can sometimes clear temporary issues and reset the printer.
  • Check for Obstructions: Ensure that there are no paper jams or foreign objects obstructing the printer's mechanisms, particularly around the main motor area. If you find any obstructions, carefully remove them.
  • Firmware Update: Visit the official HP website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. If updates are available, follow the instructions provided by HP to download and install them. Updating the firmware can address known issues and improve overall printer performance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

The first thing that I saw in my research is to do a Power Cycle. I have tried it countless number of times and even left the printer unplugged for longer periods of time. I have used an extension cord for power but now I moved the printer to plug directly into the electrical outlet. I have looked for obstructions and taken the printer apart to give it a good cleaning. I have been to the HP Support Website to find the Software and Drivers. The Driver-Product Installation Software and the Basic Drivers will download with no problem at all. I have downloaded the HP Printer Scanner Doctor. When I run the program, only the Device Status block is in red. All other blocks are green as good to go. When I do for the Firmware, it starts to go as I will see a bar to go 2 or 3 times across the screen of the Printer Control Panel. But all of a sudden the bar of the printer Control Screen stops, while on my Laptop it shows the bar to continue until the smiley face appears. The good thing is that with the motor replacements and cleaning, I can see some more to happen at start up as I hear the motors to turn.
