I am trying to print 6"x9" greeting card envelopes on my new officejet pro 8600 premium and get error message paper size mismatch. With my old photosmart printer I was able to create a custom size envelop to solve this problem. But this option is not available on my newer and better printer. Any ideas?

Hi garyaw2,

Try adding your old printer driver for OJ 8600 and try printing, Please follow steps below to add printer.

Start > Devices and Printer > Add a Printer (available on top) > Select Add local Printer (NOT other Option) > Select Create New Port > Select Standard TCP\IP port > Next > Enter IP address of OJ 8600 ( Can be found by selecting the wireless option on printer front panel) >  Next > Select Manufacturer as HP or Hewlett-Packard and under printer select your old printer c309 and complete the wizard.

Try printing again with c309 prinetr selected.

Thanks for your input but I had already visited this article as I was familiar with it. I had this same problem with my previous photosmart printer which this solution corrected. However with my new officejet pro 8600 premium installed, when I open Outlook and try this fix, the custom size option is not available for paper sizing (doesnt even appear on drop down list of sizes).

Hi,

Which version of Outlook are you using?

Hi there.  I am facing the same issue.  I print envelopes of varying sizes all the time for my business and I had no problems with my old 722C printer (which just died) since replacing it with the 8600, I am getting the same message.  I use "Art Explosion Publisher Pro 2.0"  software.  I was really hoping my 8600 would make my life easier, but now I am stuck and I have a major job pending.

Any assistence would be great.

Thanks

Warren

I have not tried printing these envelopes from MS-Word (I was using an existing template that I have in Publisher Pro, to see if what I could do before still worked)  I will try MS-Word and MS-Publisher as well.  Do you know if I will be able to print other non-standard size envelopes on my 8600?   Or other custom size pages too.  I print invitations and the printible portion is never a standard size.
