Hi @tim212,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer is showing a red light and won't print despite the HP Smart app showing it as okay, here are some steps you can try.

Check the Cartridge Status:

  • Ensure the ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty or low on ink. The flashing red light often indicates an issue with the cartridges.
  • Open the front access door and make sure both cartridges are seated correctly.
  • If the ink levels are low, try replacing the cartridges.

Clear Paper Jams:

  • Check for any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer. Remove any stuck paper or debris.
  • Make sure there are no torn pieces of paper left inside after clearing the jam.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source and leave it unplugged for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug it back in, power it on, and try printing again.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Open the HP Smart app and check for any available firmware updates for your printer. Install any updates if available.
  • Outdated firmware may cause communication or functionality issues.

Reinstall the Printer Driver:

  • Sometimes, reinstalling the printer driver can resolve issues.
  • Go to your device’s Control Panel > Devices and Printers > right-click on your printer and select Remove device.
  • Then, reinstall the printer through HP Smart or your system's Add a Printer function.

Factory Reset the Printer:

  • If none of the above steps work, consider performing a factory reset on your HP ENVY 6055e printer. This will restore it to its original settings, which might help resolve the issue.
    • To perform a factory reset, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer at the same time for about 5-10 seconds until the printer restarts.

Try these steps and see if the red light stops flashing and the printer resumes normal operation.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
