Why won't hp replacement ink 901 that says it fits in place of 61 work?

@shellykdk, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To be able to assist you better, I'd like to know the following-

  • Did HP send you replacement ink?
  • Is there any error message when you use the HP 61 Ink?

As per the printer specifications, it is designed to work with HP 61 ink cartridges in North America and the Asia Pacific including Japan (excluding India, China, and Indonesia) regions.
