I have a new wireless router. I cannot connect to it with the 6500a plus via WPS button nor pin. I've also tried said and pass phrase to no avail. I know wps is working because it works with other devices. What other router settings should I look at.?

I tried changing security from WPA2 to WPA2+WPA. Same result.

Printed network test says everything is okay but no IP address.

Try channel 1, with security.    If no go, change in the router to 'mixed' mode, 20Mhz only.

Nothing new there. The print will not connect via WPS push button / WPS pin / nor by Ssid + pass phrase. Each gives the same generic error. Network test report says everything good but no IP address.

Reset the printer back to Factory Defaults and use the Setup Wizard though the front panel.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't mention it, but I did that already too. I also moved the printer to the same room as the router to eliminate interference.

Printer Model - Done

Detailed Problem Description - Done

Operating System of computer (including service pack revision) - [ ADDED: Not using computer in this mix, at least not yet.  Trying to get the 6500Aplus to connect to new wireless router. ]

Connection Method - USB, Hardwired LAN, Wireless? -  [ ADDED: Trying to connect wirelessly.  Device had been working wirelessly previously since purchased, 1.5 years maybe.  Had to replace wireless router.  Now, trying to connect to new router.]

Make and model of router and modem? -  [ADDED: NetGear NightHawk AC1750  R6700]

Error messages - on printer screen and/or computer, any blinking light patterns.  [ADDED:  Using the methods of WPS push button, WPS PIN, and SSID + passphrase all come back with a generic connection error.  I'm unclear of the exact wording as I don't have the printer in front of me know.

If wireless, status of Blue Wireless light on printer, on, off or blinking? -  [ADDED: blue wireless light/symbol is on and constant.  During setup, it is able to find my network and display the SSID.  My neighbor's too. ]

An additional piece of information that may or may not be relevant.  I had to replace the router because the old one died the day after overnight thunderstorms.  I assume there is the possibility that the storms had effects beyong the router, such as with the printer too.

The router is dual band and I've seen this model needs the 2.4Ghz network.  That is the version that the printer is able to find the SSID.  I tried both security settings, WPA2 and the WPA + WPA2, each with all three configuration types, and each giving the same generic error.  I have not yet tried either unsecured to finally test if the error is related to security and I have not tried a wired connection.  I prefer not to run in a wired setup as this printer is usually set up in a basement office and the router is on the first floor.

HP Recommended

Let's try unsecured.  Remove all secuirty and try to connect to your unsecured SSID.  Set router to a fixed channel like 1,6 or 11 never 'auto'.  Now try.

HP Recommended

I will try both later and post results.  I do remember the 2.4Ghz channel is set to AUTO.
