Printer was working fine.  All HP Instant Ink Cartridges. Today I get the error"  Problem with Printer Cartridges".  when you open case, printer head quickly goes all the way to the left. no longer aligns with the printer ink circles towards the right.  Tried cleaning cartridge interface, tried unplugging for 1 minute, tried uploading all new software updates - still not working.  Also get a "Carriage Jam" error after I close the case - there is nothing I can see jamming the printer anywhere..  Also get error" Until Printer Cartridges are installed".  Again, this all happened all of the sudden, NOT after I changed anything.  Fixable or trash?

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting a cartridge error, follow these steps to fix the issue.

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware
