HP Envy Photo 6234
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This question has been asked a number of times, but the answer is still unclear to me.

I just bought an HP Envy Photo 6234 printer today (UK) which apparantly comes bundled with a 7-month HP Instant Ink trial.

I asked the employees in Currys for clarification and they said that it was as many pages as I wanted within 7 Months

As I signed up for the instant Ink, It made me make a selection I chose the free one (15 pages)

When I log in to my account, there is no mention of a 7 Month Trial.

How do I claim the free trial?

There was no trial promo-code or voucher in the box.

Does the trial get automatically applied when I register the printer for instant ink?

Which of the HP Instant Ink plans does the 7-month free trial include - occasional, moderate or frequent?

Is the idea that I register for the frequent plan on the free trial to see how many pages I actually use and then adjust the plan accordingly at the end of the free trial?

@cool2bdave,

It's great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.

After reviewing your account details, I see that you have enrolled your printer on 01/05/2019 and you're currently on 15 pages free plan. In this plan you will not be charged anything unless you print more than 15 pages and ink will be shipped to you when low ink level is detected. You can be a part of this plan as long as you are enrolled in Instant Ink. So, this plan is free as long as you have the printer or as long as you are enrolled in Instant Ink.

However, if you want enable free months, you need to upgrade the plan to 50 or 100 or 300 page-plan. As the 15-page plan is free by default but for the other page plan, there'll be a charge once you have exhausted your free trial.

Alternatively, I see that a welcome kit has been shipped and you should be able to receive it shortly.

Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help you.

Thanks for your reply.

I have switched to the £3.49 plan for 100 pages a month.

Will my account show a 7 month trial once my existing ink runs out and I start using the new instant ink?

During the trial, if I go above 100 pages will I be charged?

Hi @cool2bdave, I am the Mr.Robot. It looks like you were interacting with @Jeet_singh, but he is out of the office today, so I'll take over from here.

I appreciate your efforts for writing back to us.

Yes, once you install the ink cartridges shipped by HP the instant ink free trail would start.

And yes if you print above the plan you have selected you will be charged.

However, since you have a 7-month free trial you can change your plan to 300 or 500-page plan till the free trial ends, and once before the instant ink trial ends change your plan to 50 or 100 pages to avoid being overcharged for the plan.

Hope this answers your query!

Take Care! 🙂
