Hi @harperdog,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I’m really sorry for how frustrating this has been. I completely understand how disruptive it is when a printer simply will not stay awake, especially after you’ve already tried everything.

To make sure I give you the correct and accurate steps, could you please confirm which exact HP 7300-series printer you have?
For example, is it:

  • HP Photosmart 7300 series
  • HP OfficeJet 7300 / 7310 / 7320 / 7330
  • HP Smart Tank 7300 series

The wake/sleep behavior is handled very differently depending on the model.

In the meantime, please try these basic checks (safe for all 7300 models):

  1. Power reset
    • Leave the printer ON
    • Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer
    • Unplug it from the wall outlet
    • Wait 60 seconds
    • Plug directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector)
    • Power it back on

  2. Disable sleep/energy saving (if available)
    • From the printer control panel:
      • Settings → Preferences / Power Management
      • Set Sleep to Off or the maximum time
      • Disable Auto Power Off

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Thank you.  The issue on the Mac side -- Tahoe Beta has this printer glitch. Others online report same issue.

So glad Apple billionaires are taking care of customers.  Not.
