I have an HP Officejet 5740, this is very similar to the problem I was having earlier with Card Stock, well, now I'm having an even worse problem with Photopaper.
I'm wainting to print out some 8.5 in. by 11in. photographs and every time I load the paper the machine does not like catch or take up the paper.
Over and over again it has printed on I don't know what then spat out a BLANK Sheet of paper with a few black streaks at the top.
It so far is only doing this with Photostock paper and Card Stock. I got this Photo paper from Target; it is by the company Up&Up, it's 8.5in. by 11in. (21.5cm x 27.9cm) says it's of 8.5mil thickness instant-dry coating, semi-gloss.
The odd thing is that when this darn printer was new it printed on Photopaper just fine, now suddenly it's not. It also oddly (currently) prints just fine on the OLD Jet-Print Textured Photopaper (With a "Canvas" "watercolor" finish on it) just fine and the Up&Up Matte 8mil thickness Photopaper from Target just fine.
I don't know what to think.
the Card stock might have been too thick, the Photopaper maybe too slick and glossy but overall it just makes no sense and I'd really appreciate it if there was some way to get this darn machine to actually PRINT like it used to for once. *STEAMING! >X-[]!*

@Violet4 I suggest you check if the paper type and size of your preference is supported by the printer: Click here to verify as only the paper mentioned on the chart under paper-handling is supported.
and update the printer firmware, if the paper is supported and yet it doesn't work: Click here for instructions.
P.S: Welcome to HP Forums! 😉
Let me know how that pans out,
