8600 Pro Plus Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Have the common "Missing or failed printhead" error message. "The printhead appears to be missing, not detected or incorrectly installed. 

 

Have tried everything in every bulletin. Is this a real common problem with these printers? And if so, does it usually result in printhead replacement at $100. Seems pretty steep and in addition I have $125 worth of cartridge ink in the cartridge assembly. 

 

Should I cut my loses and just buy another printer? If I have to do that, I might not buy an HP again. Very disappointing. 

 

Can' check the parts site because it is down.
