8720 install "communication error" windows 10

Good Afternoon,

I am installing an HP 8720 via ethernet. I can see the printer during the software setup yet when i select it to proceed to the page for software installation, I receive a message stating communication error.  I have disabled the window's firewall and am able to reach the printer via eprint.

I see that you are having issues while installing your Officejet 8720 printer. I notice you are using HP Easy start to install the printer. Let’s try a different approach. Follow the steps below:

• Unplug the USB cable from the printer and computer if present.
• Now click on http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/OJ8720/OJ8720_Basicx64_1881.exe to download and install the printer drivers.
• Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

Thank you for the quick reply. 

What I have found is what I beleive to be a potential bug in the installer software. When beginning installation (ethernet connection) the software asks do you see your printer - which I do. However when i click on the printer to continue the install I receive the "can't communicate with printer" error message. I found that if you close that window and ignore it, you can proceed to normally setup the printer with no problems at all.
