HP OfficeJet Pro 8600

There is no error message.  The document is "deleting" but doesn't go away, and it's blocking any further printing.   I have tried rebooting the computer and printer several times, but that doesn't help.

@ddllrr, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with a print job stuck in the queue on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600, here are some effective solutions to clear it:

Solution 1: Manually Clear the Print Queue

  1. Stop the Print Spooler Service:
    • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    • Find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Stop.
  2. Delete Stuck Print Jobs:
    • Open File Explorer and navigate to:
      C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
    • Delete all files in this folder (these are the stuck print jobs).
  3. Restart the Print Spooler Service:
    • Go back to Services, find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Start.
  4. Try Printing Again.

Solution 2: Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

  1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  2. Run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to fix any detected printing issues.

Solution 3: Remove and Reinstall the Printer

  1. Remove the Printer:
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 and select Remove Device.
  2. Reinstall the Printer:
    • Restart your computer.
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners and click Add a Printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
