I have a Photosmart 7520 - The ADF will not feed paper when scanning. The scan automatically goes to the glass top to scan. However, it will feed paper to make a copy.
I have tried about all troubleshooting I can encounter on the web for information. I have even cleaned off the rollers and review for any broken pieces. There are no broken pieces, and the rollers turn perfectly. It has been a while since I have used the scanner feeder, so I can't indicate when it was the last time I used it.
I also have connected it directly to the wall as one suggestion on the forum states. I also completed a reset by disconnecting it from the wall as instructed several times. That is when I thought of making a copy to determine if the pieces roll ok. And it does.
So it comes to mind that maybe it is not configured correctly to scan if there is paper in the ADF automatically. Is there such thing on this printer? Is this an option to set? If so, how do I fix this? I have looked through the forum for something similar. And by the way, the "bing sound" will sound when I place the paper in the feeder.
I appreciate your expertise and instructions.

Thank you, Mr. Banhien, for your response. But YOU are INCORRECT in this matter, or maybe I didn't give you all the information correctly for you to reply with the right answer.
(please re-read the original issue then follow the thread to catch up)
Let me correct what I came across. The HP Photosmart 7520 does scan through the ADF, ALSO. The problem was not the printer, but the laptop that I was scanning into. My HP STREAM still under the Windows 8 was not picking up the entire features the printer provides. (still trying to figure that out) I believe it may be the update. REGARDLESS... I moved my printer back closer to my desktop (HP ENVY ALL IN ONE), and it is working like before. All devices are on Bluetooth. So, please do not get discouraged with the incorrect response from Mr. Banhien. It is not his fault that he doesn't know or maybe I led him to believe something else. The HP printer has many features to it and can be utilized if all devices are updated.
I tried uploading a video to display in action, but for some reason, the website is not giving me the option to upload. However, I screenshotted the video to photos to help someone out there. (apology for the blurriness) Good luck.
CAN SOMEONE FIX THE OPTION ON THE UPLOAD ISSUE... THX.

UPDATE: So I figured out to change the configuration on my laptop. I did the following:
Under the "windows fax and scan" window, I clicked on "new scan". this is where I noticed I could change the "SOURCE", however, it does not give me the option to choose ".pdf". I also noticed that the option is no longer available when using the printer window.
So, I figured how to scan from the ADF, but now the issue is it scans into a photo.
Does this have anything to do with using my HP STREAM (that is still on windows 8)? It's on Windows 8 because there is no space to update to Windows 10. 😠
When using the control panel on the printer it does not give me the option to scan to pdf, (like before). I am also connected wirelessly to my laptop.
Help.. 😞

The Photosmart 7520 printer supports COPY from ADF but does not support SCAN using ADF. You have to lift the lid manually
Regards.
