Hi @SnakeRiverAdvi,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Access Denied" error message you're encountering on your HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw when trying to access scanning apps or enabling Sprint suggests that there might be an issue with the device's network connection, authentication, or the app itself. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve this issue.
Check Network Connection:
- Ensure that the printer is connected to your network and has a stable internet connection.
- Try accessing other web-based features on the printer, such as web services or ePrint, to see if the issue is specific to the scanning app.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help reset the network connection.
Reconnect to the Network:
- If possible, delete the current network profile on the printer and reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.
Factory Reset:
- As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer to reset all settings. Be aware that this will erase all your customized settings, so use this option only if other methods fail.
Check App Settings:
- Make sure that the scanning app settings are configured correctly. Check if there are any authentication or access restrictions set within the app.
Firmware Update:
- Double-check that you have the latest firmware installed. Even if you've recently updated it, there might be new updates available. Visit the HP support website to verify.
Sprint App:
- If the issue is related to the Sprint app specifically, try uninstalling and reinstalling it. Ensure that you have the latest version of the app installed.
Firewall and Security Software:
- Check if any security software or firewall settings on your network are blocking the printer's access to external services. Adjust these settings if necessary.
Network Configuration:
- Verify that your network settings, including DNS and gateway settings, are correctly configured on the printer.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the "Access Denied" error on your HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
