After an ice storm, we lost power and heat for 5 days. The temperature in our house dropped to at least 33 degrees for at least a day. My printer will not print now. It gives no error messages and the mechanics work as if it is printing. The pages initially came out with sparse ink but after trying to revive it, the pages now come out blank. I've already replaced the ink cartridge (which may have been affected by the cold?), cleaned print heads, and aligned printheads. What else can I try?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Does this happen while copying too?
Let's try to reset the Printer here:
Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.
Follow these steps to print, and then evaluate a print quality report.
Step 1: Print a print quality report
-
Load plain, white paper into the paper tray.
-
On the printer control panel, press the down arrow
to select Settings, and then press OK.
-
Press the down arrow
to select Tools, and then press OK.
-
Press the down arrow
to select Print Quality Report, and then press OK.
The report prints.
