Hi @Darren-Guest,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy e6000 printer is stuck on "validating" after installing new cartridges, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 1-2 minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This simple step can often resolve minor software glitches.
- Remove and reinsert the cartridges: Open the printer cover and remove all the cartridges. Make sure to follow the proper procedure for removing cartridges specific to your printer model. Check the cartridges for any protective tapes or tabs that might need to be removed. Then, reinsert the cartridges firmly and ensure they are properly seated.
- Clean the cartridge contacts: Sometimes, the contacts on the cartridges or within the printer might have dirt or debris, which can interfere with the proper communication between the printer and the cartridges. Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the contacts on both the cartridges and the printer. Avoid touching the ink nozzles on the cartridges.
- Update printer firmware: Visit the official HP website and check for any available firmware updates for your printer model. If there are updates, download and install them according to the provided instructions. Updating the firmware can address known issues and improve overall printer performance.
- Reset the printer: If the issue persists, you can try resetting the printer to its default settings. Consult the user manual or visit the HP support website for instructions specific to your printer model.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
