How do I prime/flush the ink cartridge? All the tubes of C, M and Y has trapped air that's why the ink won't come out. I remember seeing an HP support staff pressing some button combinations to manually initiate the priming process. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to ask him about it.
Thank you

Hi @_SysAdmin_,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To resolve the issue of trapped air in the ink tubes of your HP Ink Tank 315 printer, you can try a manual priming or flushing process. Here’s a general step-by-step guide to help you with this:
Turn On the Printer: Make sure your printer is turned on.
Access the Service Menu:
- On the printer, you typically access a service or maintenance menu by pressing a specific combination of buttons. For many HP printers, this might involve pressing the 'Cancel' (Red X) and the 'Wireless' buttons together for a few seconds until the menu appears on the printer display.
- However, combinations can vary by model, so if this doesn’t work, you might need to check your printer’s manual or contact HP support for the exact combination for the Ink Tank 315.
Select the Prining or Priming Function:
- Once in the service menu, look for options like 'Priming', 'Cleaning', or 'Ink Flush'. Use the arrow keys to navigate and select the appropriate option.
- Confirm any prompts to initiate the process. The printer will then start pushing ink through the tubes to remove air bubbles and ensure ink reaches the printheads properly.
Run a Print Test:
- After the priming is completed, print a test page to check if the issue with the air in the tubes is resolved. You can usually print a test page directly from the printer's control panel.
Repeat if Necessary:
- If you still notice issues with print quality or if there are still air bubbles, you may need to repeat the process.
Check for Leaks or Damage:
- If repeated priming does not solve the problem, visually inspect the ink tanks and tubes for any signs of leaks or damage which could be causing the air to enter the system.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
