Hi @KCPINOTT,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! 🙂 I see your AirPrint feature is currently not available when trying to set it up on your HP Officejet 8720. You get an error message when you attempt to do this in the printers EWS.

You should be able to do this by restoring the Network Defaults in the front panel of the OJ 8720:

Setup Menu > Wireless > Restore Network Defaults > Yes

Did this help? If not continue below:

The lockout is really designed for the printers to prevent others from making printer changes that could affect how the printer behaves.  For example, to keep the date and time set to that faxes show an accurate receive time.

Get the printer's IP address by pressing the network icon at the top of the screen.

Enter this IP address into the address bar of a web browser on a computer.  The printer's status page should load.  If you receive any certificate warnings, choose the option that lets you continue anyway.

Click on Settings and then go to Administrator Settings on the left.  Many of the features of the front panel are controlled here.  Make sure everything is checked except for Control Panel Lock.  Once this is set, click apply.

Power off the printer for at least 1 minute and then power it back on to force the new setting to take effect.

Any changes? If you are still having an issue, continue troubleshooting here: Wireless Printing with Apple's AirPrint

What are the results? I will watch for your reply.

Workaround steps

Use the following solutions to work around this issue.

Step 1: Move the printer

    1. Move the printer closer to wireless router.
    2. Ensure printer connected to 2.4GHz band wireless router/network.
    3. Keep the printer at a safe distance from household appliances that can potentially interfering with the WIFI signal.
      • Microwave ovens
      • Cordless phones or other devices that use the 2.4GHz band

Step 2: Connecting printer through Embedded Web Server, EWS

    1. Print a network configuration report from the printer and look at the information for IPv4.
    2. Open Internet Explorer or a Chrome web browser and type the IP address into the User Request Line (URL).

Figure 1: An embedded web server page opens.

    1. Click the Settings tab at the top of the page.
    2. Click Security, and then click Administrator Settings
    3. Under Network Settings, ensure Airpint function is “checked”
    4. Then click Apply.

Hi there,

I'd be really helpful for your help - I've followed all the instructions below and have gone into the 'Administrator settings' but no 'Printer features' appear at all - as per attached image

Any ideas? Airprint is disabled on my computer and I have followed all the steps below.

Many thanks,

Emily
