All lights blinking on printer

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

 

I understand all the lights are blinking on your HP Smart Tank 6000 series printer, it usually indicates a critical error. Here are the steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait 2–3 minutes.
  4. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it on.

2. Check for Paper Jams

  1. Open the ink access door and check for any jammed paper inside.
  2. Remove any paper stuck in the input tray or output tray.
  3. Close the printer and restart it.

3. Check Ink and Printhead Installation

  1. Open the ink access door.
  2. Ensure the printhead and ink tanks are properly installed and seated correctly.
  3. Close the door securely.

4. Check for Overheating

  • If the printer has been running for an extended period, let it cool down for at least 10 minutes before restarting.

5. Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults

  1. Press and hold the Power button.
  2. While holding Power, press the Cancel button (X) 5 times.
  3. Release the Power button and wait for the printer to restart.

6. Update Firmware (if possible)

  • If the printer starts working but still has issues, update the firmware using HP Smart App.
