HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One Printer - H711a/H711g

My printer lights are all flashing on and off. Blue screen shows the "power" button image but no buttons work. I turn off and on or try unplugging and nothing happens. What else can I try?

Hi @CBP4,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Officejet 6600 E-All-In-One Printer's lights are all blinking and it is unresponsive, this typically indicates a hardware or firmware issue. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the back of the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on by pressing the power button.

Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions:

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer.
  • Remove any paper or objects you find.

Check the Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed and seated correctly.
  • Close the ink cartridge access door.

Update Firmware:

  • If the printer is responsive enough to access the settings, check for any available firmware updates. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve such issues.
  • If you cannot access the printer's menu, you can download the latest firmware from the HP support website and follow the instructions for updating it via your computer.

Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults:

  • If you can access the printer menu, navigate to the settings and look for an option to restore factory defaults. This can sometimes clear out any settings causing the issue.
  • Note: This will erase all settings and configurations on the printer.

Additional Tips:

  • Check the Power Source: Ensure the power outlet is functioning correctly. Try plugging the printer into a different outlet.
  • USB Connection: If the printer is connected to a computer via USB, try disconnecting it and see if the printer becomes responsive.
