HP DeskJet 2752e All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

My all-in-one deskjet printer has all of a sudden stopped working. It says it is connected to the internet but the HP smart app says it is not connected along with stating that I am not using HP Instant ink (I only get my ink from HP Instant ink). The light is on for the ink even though I took my newly replaced cartridges out and put brand-new ones in. The paper feeder light is on even though it has paper and I have pushed it multiple times. The information button is blinking and prior to it completely tanking, it kept printing the printer information page, which the pin number does not match the pin on the printer.  The wifi light is solid and my computer says it's ready to print but it never prints and does not copy either. I don't constantly use this printer, so there is no reason for it to be broken in 2 years of light use. I have done all the solutions recommended by HP with no success. This includes disconnecting the printer and router and running diagnostics on the printer which gets stuck at test print. I have made sure the operating system on my Mac is up to date and the firmware on my printer is current as well. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my printer with no success. The HP smart app will not and has never allowed me to finish the setup process of my printer either. Of course, my warranty expired a couple of months ago on my printer so it's obviously not covered anymore (convenient). Any suggestions on what this issue might be? I have had nothing but issues with this printer since the day I bought it! Ugh!

Hi @Arrnblair,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's frustrating when your printer suddenly stops working, and it seems like you've already tried many of the common troubleshooting steps. Since you've mentioned that you've already attempted some of the standard solutions recommended by HP without success, I'll provide a few additional steps you can try.

Restart All Devices:

  • Turn off your printer, computer, and router.
  • Unplug the power cables from the printer and router.
  • Wait for a minute or two.
  • Plug in the power cables and turn on the router first, then the printer, and finally your computer.

Check Network Connection:

  • Make sure that your printer is indeed connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  • Verify the Wi-Fi credentials on the printer to ensure they match the network you want to connect to.

Factory Reset:

  • If the printer's settings are all messed up, you may consider performing a factory reset. This will clear all previous configurations, so you'll need to set it up as a new device.
  • The steps for performing a factory reset may vary by model, so consult your printer's manual or HP's support website for specific instructions.

Uninstall and Reinstall the HP Smart App:

  • If the HP Smart App is causing issues, try uninstalling it from your computer, then download and install the latest version from the HP website.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Even if you believe your firmware is up to date, visit HP's website and double-check for any new firmware updates specifically for your printer model. If available, update the firmware.

Verify HP Instant Ink Subscription:

  • Ensure that your HP Instant Ink subscription is active and that your printer is properly registered with the service. If there are issues with your Instant Ink subscription, it might affect your printer's functionality

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
