HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer

None of the lights on my HP ENVY6055 are on. Not the blue led lights to show the printer is on, not the icon buttons either, not even the wifi one. The printer turns on only when I unplug the cord from the back and plug it back in, sometimes I need to open the lid too. I've tried holding down the info icon button. I've unplugged the cord. I've run the diagnostics from my Windows surface and it has come back clear. The test page even prints fine. I work from home so I can't wonder if the printer is on and if it's going to print if I need materials for a meeting. Wondering if there is a solution to this problem that I haven't tried or do I need to buy a new printer? I've had this printer for almost 3 years and my warranty expired in January. Thank you for troubleshooting.

Wanted to clarify that when I get the printer to turn on, it actually does connect to wifi and print. The issue seems to be with the power and lights.

Hi @creature0170,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If all the lights are off on your HP Envy 6055 printer and you can't tell if it's on or off, and the buttons don't seem to be responsive, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Check Power Connection: Ensure that the power cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the power outlet. If possible, try a different power outlet to rule out any issues with the outlet itself.

Power Cycle: Sometimes, electronic devices can become unresponsive. To fix this, perform a power cycle:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button, if it's accessible.
  • Unplug the power cable from the printer and the power outlet.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug the power cable back in and turn on the printer.

Test with a Different Power Cable: If you have access to a compatible power cable from another device, try using it to power your printer. Sometimes, the power cable itself can be faulty.

Check for LED Indicators: Look for any LED indicators on the printer. These lights can provide information about the printer's status. If there are no lights at all, it could be a power issue or a more serious hardware problem.

Inspect the Power Adapter: Check the power adapter for any visible damage or loose connections. If you find any issues, consider replacing the power adapter with a compatible one.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
