I had the Office Jet Pro 8710 for a little over a year it worked fine for the occasional printing that we do at home, that is until out of the blue it just started deciding to have false paper jams. It would say there was a paper jam and then just cycle the paper through about 1 in 10 times it might actually decide to print after a frustrating cycle of verifying that there was in fact no paper jam. The printer was maintained in a very clean home office environment, it had never been moved or damaged, it had barely printed through the original 2 packages of paper I bought when I got the printer. I had only replaced the ink cartridges 1 time. Under 2 years of very light service and after a frustrating period of trouble shooting it is now on its way to its new home, the city dump. I will probably not purchase another HP product in the future. And I think the instant ink thing is a terrible business model. I really don't like being forced to buy their cartridges, I might choose to buy them if they were competitively priced but being forced to do so is a bridge too far for me as a consumer. I am a very dissatisfied customer this company will not be getting anymore of my money and I will forward that as a recommendation to all of my friends, family and coworkers.
