Hi @FrankB1958,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If you're encountering a "Print Cancelled" alert when attempting to print on your HP OfficeJet 5255 All-In-One Printer, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

1. Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device.
  • Check the printer's control panel for any error messages or warnings and resolve them if present.

2. Clear Print Queue:

  • Sometimes, stuck print jobs can cause issues. Clear the print queue to resolve this:
    • Windows:
      1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
      2. Right-click on your HP OfficeJet 5255 printer and select See what's printing.
      3. In the print queue window, right-click and choose Cancel for each job.
    • Mac:
      1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
      2. Select your HP OfficeJet 5255 printer and click on Open Print Queue.
      3. Select each print job and click on the X to cancel them.

3. Restart Devices:

  • Restart Printer:
    • Power off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
  • Restart Computer:
    • Restart your computer to refresh the connection between the printer and the computer.

4. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Update Drivers:
  • Reinstall Drivers:
    • Uninstall the current printer drivers from your computer, then reinstall the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

5. Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Update Firmware:
    • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer > Check for Updates.

Find the next set of steps in the next post.
