Avery labels #5209 won't print

I load the Avery lables #5209 in the #2 TRAY and the pinter tells me to load 8 1/2 x 11 paper and will not print the label on the Avery able be does ont 8 1/2 by 11.  I empty the #2 TRAY amd load the Avery Label in the #1 TRAY and the printer tells be load 8/12 x 11 in the #2 TRAY anmd will not print the label.

How can I get this to print?

Welcome to the HP English Community --

The printer must first be told which paper size / type is to be used.

After the printer is made aware of the settings for Tray and Paper, the job should be easier to configure.

Remember to set your Printing Preferences Shortcut to "Everyday" printing (standard print, single side).

Perhaps Export your completed Word template to PDF, Save the file, then print using Adobe Reader.

Notes

According to the documentation, Tray 1 supports this paper size (4x6 inches).

The "type" designation is less important in this instance -- The label paper is about the same weight at premium office paper.  Should the labels have trouble feeding, clean the printer rollers as a first course of troubleshooting.

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type
